Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the business, deliver the diagnostic, and maintain basic records.

• From Stripe at checkout: name, email, business name, billing address, and phone number.
• From Tally at intake: business profile details, team size, revenue band, operating responses, and any supporting context you provide.
• From normal web visits: IP address, browser user agent, and referring page as available through hosting and server logs. We do not currently run behavioral analytics cookies on the site.
• From email correspondence: the content of messages, attachments, and reply history you send to us.

2. How We Use It

We use information to review fit, fulfill paid engagements, deliver the diagnostic package, answer follow-up questions during the included Q&A window, maintain internal records, comply with tax and financial obligations, and defend against fraud or payment disputes. If you explicitly subscribe to the newsletter, we use your email address to send newsletter issues until you unsubscribe.

3. Legal Basis (GDPR, where applicable)

Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract for delivering paid services; consent for optional newsletter subscriptions, which you can withdraw at any time; legitimate interests for fraud prevention, operational security, and chargeback defense; and legal obligation for accounting and tax recordkeeping.

4. Subprocessors We Use

We use a small set of third-party service providers to operate the business:

• Stripe — payment processing; see stripe.com/privacy.
• Tally — intake form hosting; see tally.so/privacy.
• Google Sheets / Google Workspace — intake routing, correspondence, and internal recordkeeping.
• Beehiiv — newsletter delivery, only if you subscribe.
• Vercel — website hosting.

No subprocessor is authorized by us to use client data for its own marketing or analytics beyond what is governed by its own platform terms and privacy policy.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We do not set behavioral-tracking cookies on this site at this time. Third-party hosted pages such as Stripe checkout, Tally forms, or Beehiiv subscription flows may use functional or platform cookies under their own policies.

6. Data Retention

• Intake responses and email correspondence: retained for 24 months after final delivery unless you request earlier deletion.
• Payment and tax records: retained for 7 years where required for U.S. tax and financial recordkeeping.
• Diagnostic reports and working files: retained as business records unless you request deletion, subject to legal or operational retention needs.

Where deletion is requested, we will remove or anonymize data where reasonably possible, except where retention is legally required or necessary to defend against disputes.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing themargin@buildsoloai.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. Some requests may be limited where we must retain information for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance reasons.

8. International Transfers

The Margin operates from the United States. If you access the site or engage the service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and by subprocessors that support our operations.

9. Children

The service is intended for business owners and operators. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

10. Security

We rely on industry-standard safeguards provided by our hosting, payment, email, and data-processing vendors, along with internal access controls appropriate to a small professional services business. No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting client data, we will notify affected parties without undue delay where appropriate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date when changes are made.
